What is the difference between a static and an AI generated Conversation node, and how do I test edits quickly?
The Conversation node is how the AI talks on the phone and in chat in the visual agent builder.
Static response: the agent says that message and only that message. Leave it on static for normal use.
AI generated: you give instructions on what to say, for example greet the caller and ask how they are doing, and the AI writes the words. Use it when the AI has to work with data, such as results from an earlier step.
Auto continue: tick the Auto continue checkbox when the agent should go straight to the next step without pausing for the caller to speak, for example from a short intro line straight into an Ask and save step.
Testing: you can edit while you test. Change a line, save it, and click the rewind button to go back to that step and try it again, as many steps back as you need, instead of running the whole conversation from the beginning.
If the workflow has its own greeting, remove the agent's separate opening greeting setting so the agent does not say two greetings.
